Back in Action: Commencement of Session 2019
Yesterday, the commencement of the 439th Legislative Session took place in Annapolis. I took my oath of office, and was reaffirmed in the Maryland State Senate. I look forward to working with my colleagues but most importantly, being your voice in Annapolis.
We hit the ground running like always this year. Over the next 90 days, the Maryland General Assembly will hear as many as 2000 pieces of legislation (too much in my opinion!). Most of which, unfortunately, will be hostile to the job-creators, tax-payers, and working families of Maryland. I promise to stand-up for the values we share and ensure the voice of Carroll County is heard in Annapolis.
This Session, we will tackle many of the important issues our state faces; fair Congressional and Legislative redistricting, combating record crime in Baltimore City and surrounding regions, bolstering Maryland’s economy through tax relief and further regulatory reform, and continuing to confront the opioid epidemic head on. I feel a tremendous amount of pride and responsibility to work on solving these important issues on behalf of Carroll County.
