The Carroll County Delegation has introduced legislation seeking amendment to The Public Local Laws of Carroll County – Redistricting Plan. This bill addresses several concerns that occurred during redistricting during the 2022 General Assembly Session with Carroll County’s commissioner districts. These concerns were not identified until after redistricting was complete. The legislation was requested by the Carroll County Board of Elections and their Executive Director, Katherine Berry.
The current map created problems with identifying polling places, the amount of ballot styles that were required for the election cycle and voter privacy in several areas in the county. The following charts and maps highlight the proposed changes:
