Good Morning!
After all the commercials, door-knocking and mailing - people start casting ballots today in Maryland as early voting begins and runs through November 1st.
The polls are open every day from 10 a.m. through 8.p.m. If you are concerned you might not have time or be out of town on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6th, please be sure to vote early.
For the first time there are two early voting centers in Carroll County; the Westminster Senior Center and the South Carroll Swim Club. For more information, click here.
This is a critically important election for the future of our state and nation. When you go to cast your vote, I'd like to respectfully ask for your support for mine and Governor Hogan's team - the District 5 Team - myself for State Senate and Susan Krebs, April Rose and Haven Shoemaker for House of Delegates.
Another important office that is on the ballot (there are many) is Attorney General - and I strongly support Craig Wolf who is taking on incumbent Brian Frosh. Craig wants to return the focus of the Attorney General's office away from D.C. politics and left-wing posturing back to a focus on public safety and fighting crime and the heroin/opioid epidemic.
Finally - I've gotten a lot of questions about Circuit Court Judge and the ballot questions. I strongly support Richard Titus to continue serving on the Carroll County Circuit Court. Judge Titus was appointed two years ago by Governor Hogan, is a strong common sense leader with a conservative orientation and is doing a great job.
On the ballot questions - I will be voting YES or FOR on Question 1 which involves lock-boxing the casino gaming revenues so they are used more exclusively for education as was the original purpose sold to voters when they approved expanded gaming in 2012. On Question 2, I'm AGAINST. I believe same day voting registration and then allowing people to vote carries with it a lot of opportunity for fraud and mischief. It is easier than ever before to register to vote and numerous government agencies ask you to when you interface with them. I don't support same-day registration.
Again, our team - including Governor Hogan and Craig Wolf needs your support in early voting or on Election Day, November 6th. If you have any questions about the ballot or concerns about the election, feel free to email me at [email protected].
Help Us Spread the Word in the Final Two Weeks:
There's a lot of last minute activity and campaign expenditures are moving fast and furious - we're doing everything we can to reach undecided, persuadable voters with a positive, conservative message AND working hard to get our supporters to the polls.
If you'd like to help us finish strong with a contribution - please click here. Just $35, $50, $100 or even $10 makes a huge difference! Or, mail a check payable to "Friends of Justin Ready", P.O. Box 402, Westminster, MD 21158.
And - if you're interested in volunteering for the team effort in Carroll County - email Andy Baranauskas - [email protected] There are so many things you can do to make an impact.
