Ready Report: 2.5 Weeks Out, Ready in the Community & Democrats Claim Budget… “Surplus”??

I hope you had a good weekend and are looking ahead into the Fall season. Things have certainly been busy for my family and me, and I’ve also been traveling throughout the district and Maryland, with opportunities to take our common sense, conservative message to key groups of people in Maryland.

NOTE – We are just two and a half weeks out from my 2026 Campaign Kickoff – our Annual Fall Family fundraiser at Island Green in Westminster. If you haven’t already please click here to get your tickets or even sponsor the event. Whether you can make it or just want to make contribution below, this is a key fundraiser to allow our campaign to be able to run a strong race and also support conservative reform efforts throughout our state. But also – while this is a fundraiser – I really would love for anyone who supports our combined efforts to turn Maryland around to be able to come so please reply to this email if you want to come but ticket price is an issue. Hope to see you on October 15th!

Schedule Alert – on Kim Klacik Show Tomorrow:

I’ll be joining the Kim Klacik Show on WCBM 680 AM tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10:00 AM. We’ll be talking about the latest state political news including the bad audits of state spending practices and Social Services Administration, crime and more. Tune in if you can!

Democrats Try to Claim New Budget “Surplus” – with YOUR Tax Dollars

After raising taxes and fees on hardworking Marylanders by $1.6 Billion earlier this calendar year, Democrats are claiming that Maryland’s fiscal forecast for this current fiscal year looks stable. Republican Senate leadership responded with the statement below and I also was interviewed in this video here, explaining that the only reason our fiscal forecast is temporarily better is because Democrats increased tax and fees by $1.6 Billion on you. In future years – we still face huge deficits projected because of spending commitments that Governor Moore and the Annapolis Democratic Majority won’t pare back.

Ready in the Press:

From WBFF FOX 45 – “Sen. Justin Ready of Carroll County criticized the tax hikes, stating, “We have to raise every tax and fee just to keep limping along.” He added, “Governor Moore talks about lifting people up but when you pass over 330 tax and fee hikes that’s pushing people down.” To read more, click here.

From WBAL-TV 11 Baltimore – “Maryland Senate Republicans: Rebates are gimmick that move ratepayer money around. Senate Minority Whip Justin Ready, R-District 5, said in a statement: “Energy rates just went up again and will continue climbing every six months because the Democratic supermajority in Annapolis ignored the short-term energy crisis. This ‘relief’ plan doesn’t change that reality — it’s a Band-Aid that masks the real wound. Marylanders deserve a long-term solution to lower energy costs, not another socialist transfer of their own money designed to cover up bad decisions in the State House.” To read more, click here.

Additionally, I will be appearing on the Kim Klacik Show tomorrow, Tuesday September 30th. You can listen to the Kim Klacik show by tuning into WCBM radio on weekdays from 9am-12pm.

Ready in the Community

Last weekend we made a stop by one of our best playgrounds in the district – Westminster City Park. Great job by the city keeping this so nice and we happened to hit it at a time when there were only a few folks out so lots of room! We are all holding our kids and loved ones tighter these days.

It is an honor to represent you in the Maryland Senate. As always, feel free to reach out to my office anytime with questions or concerns. Please be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter/X for the most up-to-date information.
