The Republican Caucus Stands in Firm Opposition to any Tax and Fee Increase

Speaking at Senate & House Republican Press Conference on Wednesday

The House and Senate Republican Caucuses held a press conference on Wednesday where we voiced our strong opposition to any tax or fee increases. In just two years, Governor Moore has passed more than 300 tax and fee increases onto the Maryland taxpayers.

On January 15th, Governor Moore will share his initial budget proposal, and we will know how he plans to close the deficit. This year, work on the budget will begin in the House of Delegates where it must pass that chamber before being considered by the Senate. There has been a lot of rhetoric around tax increases being the last option to cover the shortfall, but we have also heard that “everything is on the table”.
