Ready Report: A Win for Fiscal Responsibility, Carroll 4H Fair & More…
I hope you and your family are staying cool during this hot period and having a great summer season. A lot to update you with below:
Senate & House Republicans Call out Governor Moore for Undermining Hiring Freeze – Moore Administration WITHDRAWS Their Proposal:
Governor Moore had been proposing to take $30,000 from one part of the current budget and apply it to hiring federal workers while they are supposedly in the midst of a hiring freeze, and offering buyouts to state employees. I signed a letter mentioned in the press release below with my fellow Republican colleagues that are on the Joint Legislative Policy Committee that approves these kinds of transactions. We made it clear that we were a strong NO on this.
Then on Wednesday, the Moore Administration announced that they were RESCINDING the request following our strong opposition. This is a small win for transparency, however I will continue to be monitoring how this administration spends state funds, and fighting for common-sense fiscal policies. Ready in the Press – Campaign & MPRP Update
As you may have heard, I will be running for State Senate in 2026 together with Delegate April Rose and Delegate Chris Tomlinson. Last week, the Baltimore Sun ran our OpEd outlining our united conservative front, as well as summarizing some of our agenda in Annapolis. To read the full article, click here. Additionally, I was interviewed by FOX 45’s Gary Collins about Governor Moore’s claim that there is basically nothing the State of Maryland can do about the MPRP project since PJM is a multi-state operator. The interview included a very interesting breakdown from an energy-specialist attorney and a local young farmer who’s property would be impacted by MPRP.
