Ready Report: Campaign News, Candidate Spotlight, In the Community & More…

I hope that you and your family had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend. Below I have some updates both from activity out in the community and some campaign-related news, including a candidate spotlight I wanted to share.

Senator Ready 2026 Candidate Profile from Carroll Community Media Center

As the election season has really ramped up following the conclusion of the Legislative Session, one unique opportunity the Carroll Community Media Center offers candidates is to record a 5-minute candidate profile accessible to the public. All filed candidates are contacted following the filing-deadline and given this opportunity.

Last week, I recorded my candidate profile for this election cycle, where I discuss the accomplishments we have made together, as well as the vision moving forward. You can watch the full video by clicking here.

Candidate Spotlight: Adam Wood for State Senate – District 42 (Carroll & Baltimore Counties)

Those of you who live in Hampstead, most of Finksburg and big parts of the southern/eastern Manchester zip code and eastern Westminster zip code that I used to represent are now, since 2023, in Senate District 42 which also includes most of Northern Baltimore County and Cockeysville/Lutherville. Senator Chris West, who is the current D42 Senator, is retiring. I am strongly supporting Adam Wood for this open seat. There is a primary and then a general election contest. I want to be sure we have a committed conservative who will focus on the Carroll County portion of the district as well as the Baltimore County side – just like Senator West has always done.

As you know, the environment in Annapolis is hostile toward Republican values. We are fighting every day for common sense, conservative reforms and against the radical Left special interests that try to control our state. We only have 13 Republican Senators out of 47 total right now. We need every one of those Senators to be conservative leaders with strong work-ethic, and the knowledge and experience to be effective and fearlessThat’s exactly why I am supporting Adam.

Adam is a committed, energetic conservative first and foremost. He also brings the preparation that the job requires. In addition to experience working in small businesses, Adam has spent years working in the conservative policy arena, including significant Capitol Hill staff experience. He most recently served as Executive Director of the Maryland Republican Party, where he worked with candidates, elected officials, and grassroots leaders across the state. Through that experience, Adam understands how Annapolis works and the challenges Republicans face in our state. Just as important, he understands that representing District 42 means standing up for the values and priorities of Carroll County families and job creators. I hope you’ll join me in supporting Adam Wood on June 23rd in the Republican primary.

Ready in the Community

Recently I was invited to throw out the first pitch at one of South Carroll High School’s home games versus Manchester Valley High School. It was really great to talk to the players and coaches. I don’t think I’ll be making it as a major league pitcher, but I do love our high school sports scene in Carroll County and District 5!
