Former Delegate Susan Krebs Appointed to Carroll County Commissioner Vacancy

Last week, the Carroll County Republican Central Committee voted to appoint former State Delegate Susan Krebs to fill the vacant County Commissioner seat. Mrs. Krebs is a great choice and will do a great job for our county and particularly the Freedom area which makes up Commissioner District 5 (Eldersburg & Sykesville). I look forward to working with her in this new capacity along with continued partnership with all five of our county commissioners.

Governor Moore Addressing MD Association of Counties  – What He Should Have Said:

Last week, Governor Moore spoke to county elected officials and staff from across the state about leaders in tough times becoming at the Maryland Association of Counties Conference. What I think would be legendary – making actual tough choice to say no to Annapolis special interests and bigger government and instead give Maryland families, job creators and retirees real relief on their cost of living burden. Carroll County Launches Age-Friendly Community Survey

The Carroll County Bureau of Aging & Disabilities (BOAD) is conducting a survey to guide the creation of the Bureau’s age-friendly strategy. BOAD, as a member of AARP’s network of Age-Friendly States and Communities is required to assess the local community in different areas including age-friendliness, gaps in services, defining strategies for improvement and implementing those strategies over time.

As Carroll County progresses toward becoming more age-friendly, residents are asked to weigh in! The Age-Friendly Carroll County Community Needs Survey will be used to determine the most pressing priorities in the community, and gauge residents’ awareness of existing age-friendly programs.  The overall objective is to identify the current needs of residents and to assist in making informed decisions on resources, programs and community-wide needs.

The survey may be completed online, via mobile phone, tablet or computer and only takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Carroll County residents are encouraged to participate in the survey until September 15,2025. The survey may be completed by clicking on this  link or scanning the QR code below.  Share your thoughts today!
