Ready Report: Crime Op-ed, Local Broadband Presentation & More…

I hope you and your family are doing well and that you remembered to “Fall back” this weekend (we should finally get rid of all that). Below I am sharing a letter I had in the Carroll County Times and some important upcoming community events where you can get information and make you voice heard. Have a great week!

Ready Letter in Carroll County Times on Fighting Crime

I submitted an Op-Ed to the Carroll County Times addressing the Democrat’s refusal to address the out-of-control violent crime issues plaguing our state. Public safety should be the highest priority of any government official; however, it does not appear to be for many Maryland Democrats. Instead they keep focusing on things like limiting law-abiding citizens Constitutional rights. You can read the full op-ed by clicking here.

Join me and the Carroll County Delegation for Public Meeting on December 7th

The Carroll County Delegation will hold our annual public hearing on proposed county legislation and public comment period on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.  The hearing will take place at the Carroll County Office Building, 225 North Center Street, Westminster, MD 21157.

First, our Delegation will be hearing Carroll County-specific bill proposals for the 2024 Maryland General Assembly Legislative Session.  These legislative requests are ones made by the County Board of Commissioners, local non-profit organizations, and individual Delegation members.  The public is encouraged to attend and give input on the proposals. Second, there will also be an open comment opportunity where members of the public can share their thoughts and concerns on any state-related issue with our delegation. All are welcome, we do ask that if you want to speak you RSVP. You can get the details on the public meeting by clicking here.

Ready in the Community

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to take part in the annual County Transportation Priority (CTP) meeting between Maryland Department of Transportation and our Carroll County Government Maryland Commissioners. Along with Delegate Chris Tomlinson, we discussed the top transportation priorities for the county and looked at some of the ongoing and recently completed projects.

Included in those plans are projects in Sykesville, Eldersburg, Finksburg, Mt Airy and the Westminster Route 97 corridor as well as smaller projects all over the county. Also discussed were longstanding needs like Taneytown bypass, New Windsor downtown needs and Route 26 issues East of 32. Our District 5 Team has and will continue to do our best to put out information about projects so people can know what to expect and give input as well.
