Ready Report: Happy Thanksgiving & More!

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy the quality time with one another. This year, my family will spend time reflecting on the many blessings that God has given us. Happy Thanksgiving!

Ready in the Press

Earlier this month, my OpEd titled “Maryland’s Fiscal Footing is Unsustainable” ran in the Carroll County Times and Baltimore Sun. Just three years into Gov. Wes Moore’s term, the state faces deep budget deficits despite inheriting a record surplus from eight years of disciplined fiscal management under Gov. Larry Hogan. That surplus was quickly spent on mandated programs like the Kirwan Blueprint for Education and thousands of new government hires — leaving taxpayers with the bill.

Instead of taking on the structural problems they’ve created in Maryland, the Democratic majority in Annapolis continues to rely on policies that discourage private investment and grow government. Maryland Senate Republicans and the Maryland House Republican Caucus have put forward a different approach — one focused on reducing the cost of living, becoming more competitive and fiscally responsible.” To read the full article, click here.

Carroll County Government Publishes 2025 Listing of “Tree & Greens” Farms:

For Immediate Release:

‘Tis the Season!
County Christmas Trees and Holiday Greens Information Now Available!

Westminster, MD, Monday, November 24, 2025 – Carroll County’s listing of 2025 Christmas Trees and Holiday Greens locations is now available in print or digital versions. The county is excited to promote local Christmas Tree Farms spread throughout the area for residents and visitors to purchase holiday trees, greens and other items. Printed brochures are available at the Visitors Center located at 500 S. Center Street in Westminster (Farm Museum location.) Carroll County Department of Economic Development also hosts websites with the farm information on the Carroll County Grown Christmas Tree Farm webpage and Carroll County Tourism webpage.

Farms may offer a variety of options, including cut-your-own, select a live tree to be cut for you, pre-cut, or a live tree you can plant. Many locations also have other items and fun activities to get you into the holiday spirit – check with each farm for more information!

Buying Christmas trees and greens grown in Carroll County not only supports local farms but benefits the entire community as ‘dollars’ spent at local farms and businesses are more often reinvested locally, contributing to a more vibrant and healthy community environment.
