Ready Report: New Email Address, MPRP on FOX 45 & Local News

Just over one year ago, the near murder of President Donald J. Trump was a defining moment in the 2024 Election and in the future of our country. No matter who you voted for, the murder of a presidential candidate (and former president) would have been a catastrophic event. I’m thankful for President Trump’s survival. Sadly, another life was lost in Butler, PA. We should pray and work towards never allowing this to happen again, no matter which party or side. God bless, and give wisdom to President Trump and our nation’s leaders in both parties.

County Commissioner Ed Rothstein Appointed as Maryland Secretary of Veterans Affairs

Last week, Governor Wes Moore appointed County Commissioner Ed Rothstein as Secretary of the Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families. While you know I have deep and strong disagreements with Governor Moore, Ret. Colonel Rothstein is a good selection to lead this department that’s goal is to support and help veterans and their families in Maryland. I congratulate Ed and thank him for his service. He also served as the base commander at Fort Meade during his career.

Important – Due to this coming vacancy – effective August 1st –  the Carroll County Republican Central Committee will be tasked with recommending an individual to the Governor to fill the District 5 Commissioner seat – District 5 is made up of the Freedom area, Southeast Carroll County including Eldersburg area and the municipality of Sykesville. The Governor will then officially appoint the new County Commissioner. Those interested in following along this process should monitor the Central Committee’s website, https://www.ccgop.net/. I will certainly provide more information as I receive it.

Governor Moore calls Big Beautiful Bill “Greedy”

Governor Moore has released videos calling the Big Beautiful Bill passed by congress “greedy.” Since, Wes Moore has taken office as Governor, Maryland has had over 350 tax or fee increases, including the largest tax hike in Maryland history just this year. So, I ask Governor Moore, is it greedy for the government to lower taxes on the middle-class such as the Big Beautiful Bill, or is it greedy to force citizens to pay the government more? Watch a short video with more of my thoughts by clicking here.

It is an honor to represent you in the Maryland Senate. As always, feel free to reach out to my office anytime with questions or concerns.
