Ready Report: Testify Against Gerrymandering, Carroll County Government Holding Public Hearing & More…
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The 2026 Legislative Session is quickly approaching. I will do my best to keep you updated as we get closer, as well as throughout the Legislative Session. First an urgent alert about the battle against Governor Moore’s attempt to further radically gerrymander our state – your voice is important!
Next Public Meeting of Moore Redistricting Advisory Commission
The next meeting of Wes Moore’s stacked, so-called “bipartisan” “Redistricting Advisory Commission” is on Friday, December 12th at 4 PM, and the public will have the opportunity to testify with their opinions to the commission for up to 3 minutes via Zoom. It’s important for constituents who don’t want more congressional gerrymandering in our state to make their voice heard.
This is our best opportunity to fight back and speak out against Wes Moore’s plan to gerrymander Maryland more, disenfranchise conservative voters, and eliminate Republican voices from government.
If you cannot attend the meeting to speak, you can now also submit written testimony to the commission by emailing your concerns to [email protected].

Ready in the Community
Last week, I had the opportunity to attend several events throughout the District 5 community. First, I had a great time at Delegate April Rose’s Campaign Kickoff & Birthday Bash. In addition to hearing from Carroll County State’s Attorney Haven Shoemaker and April about what’s coming in the 2026 Session and election, we had the chance to sing “Happy Birthday!” Thank you to everyone who came out and supported Delegate Rose and this event.

Additionally, I enjoyed attending the Maryland Motor Truck Association Western region Pre-Session Dinner at Dutch’s Daughter in Frederick where I met with constituents from District 5 as well as other Western Maryland business owners in the trucking field. If you get a product in Maryland, it most likely is on a truck at some point. These small businesses are so important to our local economy, and it was interesting to hear from them about transportation needs, business regulation and more. Thanks for having me!

Ready in the Press – FOX 45 Story on Kirwan Blueprint & Budget Deficit
Fox 45 wrote a story about our warnings to Governor Moore and the Democrat supermajority on the financial irresponsibility of Kirwan Blueprint. It keeps coming home to roost as even the largest tax increase in state history doesn’t solve our deficit problem which is largely created by massive, mandated spending increases that aren’t tied to any actual performance improvements or academic achievements.
Consistently my Republican colleagues in Annapolis and I have warned about the unaffordability of the Kirwan Blueprint for Education AND Maryland’s already-too-high tax and cost of living burden. Plus, the explosion in spending isn’t getting down to the classroom like it should or yielding good results for the kids. As I’ve said for several years, we need to go back to drawing board and ensure quality, affordable education with real accountability for dollars spent or we will keep having these huge budget deficits. And Maryland General Assembly Democrats will keep holding their hands out to taxpayers to cover it. No more!
