Ready Report: The 2026 Legislative Session Begins

The first week of the 90-day 2026 Legislative Session in Annapolis has concluded. A lot of the first three days of Session is introductory ceremony and organizational meetings – next week will really begin the regular routine. Below is a short update about what happened in the first week, as well as what is expected to come. I will do my best to keep you up to date as we continue. Thank you for the opportunity to serve.

Affordability, specifically addressing out of control energy prices is one of my top priorities along with my Republican colleagues. The Baltimore Sun put out an article earlier this week highlighting this major issue for Maryland and how it is a top GOP priority in 2026. To read the full story, click here or the picture below.

Carroll County Delegation to Hold Delegation Meeting 1/29

The Carroll County Delegation will meet virtually on January 29th at 8:30am to discuss several pieces of local legislation, as well as vote on them as a delegation. The meeting will be livestreamed on the Maryland General Assembly website for public viewing. More information about the specific legislation that will be discussed and voted on, as well as a link for public viewing, will be available next week once a press release has been finalized.

Celebrating Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

Every day we want to appreciate and thank the brave men and women who protect us in law enforcement from the local to the federal level. However, with everything happening now in our country there is an unfortunate demonizing of law enforcement for doing their jobs. Last week, we celebrated Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, a great time to say a special “thank you” and to pray for them and their families to be safe and well. Thank you to our Law Enforcement!
