Ready Report: Voting, Upcoming Delegation Public Meeting, MPRP Updates & More…
Early voting is happening NOW in Carroll County and runs until the polls close at 8:00 PM tomorrow (Thursday, 10/31). Then your final chance to make your voice heard will be Election Day, November 5th so please be sure that you, your family, and even your friends have a plan to vote. In case you missed it, you can click here to see my full list of endorsements and breakdown of the 2024 Election.
Below I’ve included updates on steps our Carroll County Delegation continues to take to oppose MPRP and a “save the date” for our Delegation’s Annual Pre-Session Public Hearing and Town Hall where we will look at local legislation that’s been requested by county government and organizations and you’ll have the opportunity to share your views and legislative concerns with us directly before we head back to Annapolis in January for the 2025 Session.
Carroll County Delegation – Annual Public Hearing – November 21, 2024

Carroll County citizens are invited to hear the presentations and submit oral or written comments on any of the local legislative proposals. Following the legislative proposal presentations there will also be an opportunity for attendees to share concerns and ask questions about state-related issues. Click here for more information.
Carroll County Delegation Calls on Governor Moore to take Stand on MPRP:
Last week, after the announcement by PSEG about the route they are submitting to the Public Service Commission for approval, the six members of our Carroll County Delegation wrote to Governor Wes Moore calling on him to join us and bipartisan group of officials and take a public stance opposing this project.
We are asking him to work with the PSC members – which the governor appoints – to stop or at the very least slow this process down significantly so that better options can be found. Our letter goes into detail about the problems that this “extension cord” power line will cause, its effects on our state’s environment, food security and more.
The Moore administration had stated previously when asked about MPRP that there was nothing before the PSC to comment on. Now there is. We received confirmation of receipt of the letter but aside from that no response yet. I will be sure to share whatever response or answers we get back.

PSEG Holding Public Meetings on Proposed MPRP Route – November 12th-14th:
There will be a series of Public Meetings with the utility PSEG on the proposed MPRP route they have submitted to the Maryland Public Service Commission. This will be a chance to question them directly as opposed to the original meetings they had in the summer which were sorely lacking in transparency and opportunity for questions. There will be a public in each of the three affected counties from 11/12 through 11/14. See below for dates and times:
- Baltimore County:
Tuesday, November 12, 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
