Here’s an update on what’s happening in Annapolis at the end of the first week of session, an announcement about our Carroll County Delegation meeting next week with the agenda, and more:

Ready in the Press:

Earlier this week, I was on two different Baltimore television stations talking about key issues that we need to take action on in the 2022 Session. First, WBAL TV 11 covered Senator Simonaire, Senator Carozza and myself discussing Governor Hogan’s proposed legislation package that would aim to tackle the issue of crime. We also discussed dealing with the high cost of living in Maryland and helping small businesses as well. You can find this video here. Second, I appeared opposite Democrat Senator Jill Carter on FOX 45 to talk about crime and the Governor’s Repeat Violent Offender Act which I have supported and has passed the Senate (but not the House of Delegates) these past two years. You can find this one here.

Governor Hogan Proposes $4.6 Billion Tax Relief Package:

This week Governor Hogan announced the largest tax relief proposal in state history, which would deliver more than $4.6 billion in relief for working families, small businesses, and retirees. I am supporting this much needed tax relief – we must reduce taxes and the cost of living on our retirees, working families and job creators.
