Good Afternoon -

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend with their family members, neighbors, friends, and loved ones. We know that Memorial Day is all about honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for us and our freedom in the United States. Of course their families and loved ones also deserve our undying honor, respect and support. Thank you also to all of the courageous men and women who currently serve us and veterans who have gone before. I was thankful to see many congregating in remembrance at the Westminster Memorial Day Parade, and to be able to attend two Commemoration Services, one at the Westminster Cemetery and the other at the Ellsworth Cemetery in Westminster as well.

Governor Vetoes Anti-Firearm Legislation

A big thank you to Governor Hogan for vetoing SB1000 this past week. This legislation would have removed civilian oversight from the handgun permit process, and made it much harder than it already is for law-abiding citizens to obtain concealed carry permits. We need greater freedom in Maryland, not less; especially when it comes to protecting the rights of our firearm owners.
