Defending Law Enforcement
I wanted to update you on the bill hearings held this week that will seek to further restrict law enforcement and their ability to engage in proactive policing. Again, only Democrats were permitted to have bills presented this week. These hearings were a major departure from the Senate’s usual practice of dedicating summer hearings to bi-partisan studies and discussion of major issues. I stand proudly with our police departments. Our Republican JPR members - and entire Republican caucus - are united in supporting our law enforcement. Below, please see a letter my Republican colleagues and I sent a letter last week to Senate President Bill Ferguson.
Here is a local television news report covering the hearings and some of my comments: https://wjla.com/news/local/maryland-senators-debate-police-reform-policies-via-livestream

Ready Fall Family Fundraiser - Island Green in Westminster:
This has been an incredibly trying year for all of us. We are fighting to come out on the other side and heading into an incredibly important Presidential election. I also know that people are sick and tired of being stuck at home!
To that end, my team and I wanted to have some fun. We are holding our Annual Fall Family Fundraiser on Wednesday, October 14th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Island Greene Family Fun Center in Westminster.
Tickets are $50 per person and sponsorships are also available for $2000, 1000, $500, or $300. Children under 18 are free!
Attendees will have access to the mini-golf course and driving range with balls provided. We’ll have boxed meals provided by Molli’s Café in Westminster. We will be complying with all health department safety regulations as we support these two local, small businesses.
Whether you can join us or not, your donation of $50, $100 or any amount you can spare by clicking here will help make the event a success.
