Ready Report, February 7, 2017

We’re entering the fifth week of the 13-week 2017 session.  Last week Governor Hogan delivered his State of the State Address. Among the topics he touched on were the proposed FY2018 Budget and spending reform. You can read more about the Governor’s address by clicking here. Below, please find information regarding my weekly video update, the OpEd I wrote in the Carroll County Times concerning ethics reform, legislation filed to secure Maryland elections, and our District 5 Night in Annapolis.

Weekly Video Update:

My video update from last week gives details on the purposed FY2018 budget introduced by Governor Hogan. His budget is a balanced proposal that does not raise taxes, essentially levels funds the budget, but still funds education at record levels. To watch my video in its entirety, click here.

Unfortunately, the news has been filled recently with reports of unethical or illegal activity from some in the General Assembly. As a state legislator, I believe that our ethics should be above reproach and that all of us should be fully transparent and accountable to the public and to our state's ethics commission.  To read my full OpEd, click here.
