This weekend, Christians around the world celebrate Easter. We remember the sacrifice of Jesus’ death, the miracle of Jesus' resurrection and what it means for us. I want to wish you and your family a happy and restful Easter.

It’s been a whirlwind week in Annapolis.  We’ve had a couple of very late nights trying to finish the work of the General Assembly before Sine Die, April 12th

Next week will be our last full week of the 2021 Session. We’ve been in long hours this week and, by the end of the weekend there will be a lot to update you about. One of biggest issues debated this week was the police reform bill. I will be posting my weekly video update sometime early next week with more information.

MDOT SHA to Improve Roadway Surface on MD 86- Lineboro Road

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin improving the road surface on MD 86 (Lineboro Road) in Carroll County on Monday, April 5. Starting at 8 a.m., crews will mill, patch and resurface MD 86 between MD 30 (Hanover Pike) and the Pennsylvania state line, a span of about four miles. The project is expected to be complete in May, weather permitting.

Watch the 2021 General Assembly

For the first time ever, every Senate/House floor session, committee hearing and committee voting session will be live-streamed which is unprecedented. Until last year, only committee hearings were fully live-streamed. It's all on the Maryland General Assembly website but navigation could be tricky for people who are unfamiliar with it (which is most people).

So Sam Jones, who serves on my staff, created a short video that shows where to go to watch both live floor Sessions and committee action. Please feel free to share with friends so people can see how to follow along and - as always - contact my office if we can be helpful in any way.

You can click here to view the video.
