Thanksgiving is a time for us to reflect on all that God has given us. I know that many people will be traveling to visit family and friends and we all pray for safety and a relaxing and fun time. For me, after a long and tough election season for our nation, this Thanksgiving is a great opportunity to reflect on the greatness of America, its founding vision, and the fact that even when things are most contentious – even with the protests that we do not agree with - we still have a peaceful transfer of power.
President Ronald Reagan, in his 1981 Thanksgiving message said the following:
“Let us recommit ourselves to that devotion to God and family that has played such an important role in making this a great Nation, and which will be needed as a source of strength if we are to remain a great people.”
I can’t think of a better sentiment as we head into the weekend. From my family to yours, have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving!
