Ready Report May 5th, 2017

Happy beginning of May everyone! With the weather warming up, it is really starting to feel like Spring is here. Right now in Annapolis the Governor is reviewing legislation to decide which bills to sign into law and which bills to veto. As I have mentioned in the last couple of weekly updates, Carroll County had a productive and beneficial Session in 2017. Below you can find an invitation regarding the Third Annual Drug Overdose and Prevention Vigil, details regarding assistance provided to the Pleasant Valley VFD, information on a fundraiser for Governor Hogan in Westminster, and more!

Third Annual Drug Overdose and Prevention Vigil

On Tuesday, May 23rd, 8 Time Major League Baseball All-Star Darryl Strawberry will be sharing his story of addiction and recovery at the Portico at St. John Catholic Church in Westminster. Doors will open at 6:30p and be followed by a reception. I would like to thank State’s Attorney DeLeonardo for his effort and commitment to helping those who struggle with addiction.

Assistance Funding for Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Company

Last week the Maryland Board of Public Works approved a $282,568 loan to help the Pleasant Valley Vol. Fire Department replace their existing Pumper Truck. This support will help the Pleasant Valley VFD continue to provide excellent service to the county.

 Governor Hogan Fundraiser in Westminster

On Thursday, May 11th, Governor Hogan will be spending time in Carroll County as the State Capital shifts to Westminster for the day. At the end of the day Governor Hogan will be honored at a Reception at the Roops Mill Inn in Westminster from 6-8pm. Tickets can be purchased by clicking on the photo below. I hope to see you there!

Thank You For Your Support

Last week I emailed you asking for your help to reach an ambitious April fundraising goal. Thanks to your support, we shattered that goal! As we move closer towards the 2018 elections, I will continue to need your help and support as we continue to take on the Annapolis establishment.
