Carroll County School Board Committed to October 19th Reopening

I continue to advocate to return students to in-person instruction. Carroll County Board of Education leaders reiterated Wednesday night that they are committed to reopening under a hybrid model on October 19th.  The current model has students returning to in-person learning two days a week with students continuing to receive virtual instruction on days when they are not in school or if students choose to remain in an all-virtual format.  For the last information on reopening, visit the Carroll County Public Schools website at https://www.carrollk12.org/Superintendent/CommunityMediaRelations/Pages/CCPS-Reopening-and-Recovery-Plan.aspx.

Rural Legacy Funds for Conservation Easement

On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, the Board of Public Works approved a request to provide a $170,292.42 grant to Carroll County from Rural Legacy Funds for the acquisition of a 45.17-acre conservation easement in the Upper Patapsco Rural Legacy Area (Patton property).  Acquisition of this easement will protect productive agricultural and forest lands, as well as provide 2,100 linear feet of grassed and forested stream buffers along unnamed tributaries of the South Branch of the Gunpowder Falls.
