I've got a few items to share below but - following up on my last email congratulating some of the winners from the Republican primary - now that the final votes are counted and the Republican primary is being certified, I want to officially congratulate Eric Bouchat on his win to join Chris Tomlinson and April Rose as our three Republican nominees for House of Delegates in District 5. It ended up being very close with Sallie Taylor who ran a strong campaign and finished fourth. I look forward to working together with April, Chris and Eric and, even though we are not facing opposition in November, I encourage everyone to get out and vote in the general election and make your voice heard. For all the candidates who put their name on the line for House of Delegates, thank you for engaging in the debate about how to turn our state around and fight for our values in Annapolis.
I also want to congratulate the five Republican nominees for County Commissioner in Carroll County -
District 1 - Joe Vigliotti
District 2 - Ken Kiler
District 3 - Tom Gordon
District 4 - Mike Guerin
District 5 - Ed Rothstein
There are no Democrats running in districts 1, 2, 4 or 5. However, Tom Gordon does have opposition in District 3 - which is largely Westminster and immediate surrounding area - so we will be supporting him and watching that race.
I'll do my best to keep you updated about important campaign activities as we head into the fall general election campaign. It is so important that we all get out and work to bring lasting, conservative reform to Maryland. Every office is important up and down the ticket from Governor to Board of Education.
Maryland Transportation Authority Toll Transaction Grace Period
Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) has 4 months remaining to pay video tolls and save. For every Video Toll transaction paid in full while the plan is in place, the corresponding civil penalty is waived. In addition, toll bill referrals to the Central Collection Unit (CCU) and MDOT Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) have ceased until December 1, 2022. Four months remain in the Customer Assistance Plan offering a civil penalty waiver grace period for Video Tolls, the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) is continuing to urge customers to take advantage of the plan by paying unpaid Video Tolls – either in one payment or incrementally over time – and make sure they are paid in full by 11:59 p.m. November 30, 2022.
