Ready Report- September 21st

I hope everyone is having a great start to their fall and new school year.

Governor Hogan Approves FirstNet Communications Plan for First Responders

This state-of-the art plan enacted by Governor Hogan will create jobs and modernize public safety communication across the State of Maryland. This is a first-of-its-kind solution will deliver a wireless broadband network to Maryland’s public safety personal to deliver a faster, more reliable, and better coordinated response. FirstNet has partnered with AT&T to make his network a reality. I know our brave first responders will appreciate the assistance.

Carroll Awarded Grants for Local Roads

The Hogan Administration has focused on making Maryland friendlier for business, families, and retirees. Part of this initiative is to help improve local road projects that have previously been neglected. We were able to defeat the harmful Road Kill legislation that was in the General Assembly over the past two sessions. That bill would have put hundreds of local area road construction projects at risk of not being completed. To help our infrastructure, Governor Hogan has authorized Maryland Department of Transportation grants totaling $38.4 million for local road repair. Carroll County will benefit immensely from this, by receiving a total around $1.7 million just for projects in Carroll.
