Good afternoon,
Early voting ended yesterday. Now onto November 8th Election Day. If you have not voted, please be sure that you get there on Tuesday. Polls will be open from 7:00 AM-8:00 PM. If you are unsure where to go on election day, you can look up your voting location by clicking here. Our campaign is working with many others to turn out voters, man the polls and support our Republican team. If you want to volunteer to work at the polls on Election Day, you can reply to this email and we will get you plugged in.
ICYMI – Breakdown of Key Races on the Ballot:
It is CRITICAL that we have a strong turnout for the General Election. Below I spotlight some of our great candidates in important races that often escape media attention. Nearly every office is on the ballot this year from Governor, with our Republican nominee Dan Cox who I support against extremely liberal Wes Moore, to so-called “down ballot” races that don’t often get attention but are incredibly important. First is the Carroll County Board of Education:
BMW for Carroll County Board of Education
As you know - I am strongly supporting the BMW Team for Board of Education, Tara Battaglia, Jim Miller and Steve Whisler.
Recently I submitted an OpEd to the Carroll County Times supporting the BMW slate running for Carroll County Board of Education. This is a highly competitive race, and very crucial for the future of Carroll County. You can read my full OpEd by clicking here.
It is not an exaggeration that this is the one of the most important races this year as we must keep a pro-common sense, pro-family, “keep politics out of the classroom” Board of Education.
Congressional Candidates in Carroll
Also on the ballot in November are some great, common sense conservative leaders running for Congress. Most of Carroll County is in Congressional District 2 except for a small area in Southwest Carroll, including Mt. Airy and Woodbine which is in Congressional District 3.
Nicolee Ambrose is running for Congress in CD-2. She is attempting to flip a seat that has been held by Dutch Ruppersberger since 2003. Ambrose would be a strong advocate in Washington D.C. for conservative values, and I strongly encourage supporting her in November. More information on Nicolee Ambrose’s campaign can be found by clicking here.
In CD-3, Yuripzy Morgan is our Republican nominee against 16 year incumbent Democrat John Sarbanes. You may recognize her name, as Morgan was a WBAL radio show host for many years prior to her political involvement. Morgan also has my full support in her race, and you can find more information about her and her campaign by clicking here.
District 3 County Commissioner Race - Westminster Area
While most of Carroll County’s local and state legislative races were decided in the Republican Primary, there is one County Commissioner race with a general election contest. Commissioner District 3, which covers the city of Westminster and some of the surrounding area north and east of the city, features Tom Gordon, our Republican candidate against Zach Hands, the Democrat nominee. I strongly support Tom. He is an involved and committed community leader, solid conservative and will focus on preserving our county’s quality of life while also looking for opportunities for economic growth. Check out Tom Gordon and his campaign by clicking here and be sure to vote for Tom if you live in Commissioner District 3.
Constitutional Amendments:
Recently, I wrote an update highlighting the five state constitutional amendments that will be on the ballot in November. It is important to understand these issues before you go to the poll next month. You can read my thoughts on the five constitutional amendments by clicking here.
As always, my team and I are available to you. My personal email is [email protected]. We will do our best to get back to you as quickly as possible. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out - and don't forget to vote on Tuesday, November 8th if you have not already cast your ballot!
Sincerely,
Senator Justin Ready
